The Importance of Alone Time

The hustle and bustle of the city can become draining on any person in pursuit throughout everyday life. The weight of the world, work, relationships, etc… can make you a bit uneasy in seeing how all the pieces of your life’s puzzle fit together. What most people don’t realize is that the more active you are, the more you need to clear your head space; aka Relax! There are a few reasons why spending time alone will help you easily navigate this playing field we call life.

1. Clears the Mind:
Projects, deadlines, problems, etc… tend to clutter the mind and consume more energy than necessary. Time alone can help quiet the mind and gain more clarity. Meditation, journaling and yoga are just some techniques that can help you surrender to your inner self.

2. Heals the Body:
Physical energy like mental, can take a toll on you. Similar to strength training, your muscles need time to rest in order to recover properly and heal. So does your mind and body.

3. Learn about Self:
When you are in your own space and time, you learn more about yourself. What you are willing to accept, reject or which topics/issues you may feel passionate about. Since there is no filter between you and self discovery, you will be able to understand certain things that make you; well – YOU!

As your days get longer and your week progresses, take some time to rediscover who you are with some alone time. 15, 30mins or an hour per day can make an enormous difference.
